We Believe…

G

God’s Word heals, restores, and inspires in order to fill our spiritual hunger.

R

Relationships with others are built and strengthened through serving our community.

U

Uplifting the oppressed in society is crucial because no child of God goes unnoticed.

B

Breaking Bread with our brothers and sisters who are homeless or face food insecurity is the right response to Jesus’ words, “Whatever you did for one of the least of these… you did for me.”

At GRUB, campers will…

  • serve with Manna Café Ministries at Food Box Distribution and Mobile Café meals.
  • attend gatherings and worship nights.
  • break into small groups.
  • join in a community block party with games, food, and fun.
  • have the best week of summer and make lasting, new friendships!

What is Rhino?

Rhino is a 16-day summer internship program for young adults, ages 18–28, who have an interest in community outreach, serving in roles of ministry, and leading youth. Rhino Interns will gain valuable experience through building relationships with (high-school-age) GRUB summer camp students and by intentionally serving marginalized members of society through Manna Café’s outreach programs.

Location: Manna Village: 605 Providence Blvd., Clarksville, TN  37042

Dates: 2020 dates TBA

Why Rhino?

Rhinos can run up to thirty miles per hour, which is swift considering their overall size, but they can see only thirty feet in front of them. What would happen if God’s people charged forward at full speed even when they couldn’t see all that lay ahead? The future might be uncertain, but if we keep our eyes locked on Christ, we will have faith to move forward in trust and confidence. We want our interns to run forward like rhinos at full steam, without stopping to question the unknown. Rhino Interns will represent an unstoppable generation of young leaders charging ahead for Christ.

Rhino Interns will…

  • Lead high school students through two weeks of GRUB summer serve camp
  • Serve the community alongside students at ministry sites
  • Disciple students during morning devotion time, small group, and games and activities
  • Build relationships with high school students who are passionate about serving the community
  • Build relationships with community members who are in need
  • Be spiritually fed through worship nights, sermons, and pastoral leadership

Rhino internship is designed to provide…

  • Exposure to building community with society members who are oppressed, homeless, or facing food insecurity.
  • Experience mentoring high school students and serving in a variety of ministry site projects.
  • Education in creating intentional time with God each day, listening to teachings and sermons from local church and ministry leaders, and participating in intern-led devotions and small group times.

Who can apply for a Rhino internship?

Any young adult age 18-28 who is interested in serving in roles of ministry with youth and community outreach.

Application Process:

We will be accepting 2 young men and 2 young women for this summer’s Rhino internship program. If you are interested in applying, please apply HERE! Application deadline: July 5 at 5pm.

Please attach a recommendation from someone on pastoral staff at your church of 1–2 paragraphs that includes information about you, your involvement at the church, and overall passion for serving Christ. Applicants will be notified of results when final decisions are made by July 8 at 5pm.
